Payroll Analyst
We are looking for a Payroll Analyst to support accurate, timely payroll operations for a workforce based in Downey, California. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can interpret payroll data, collaborate effectively with multiple stakeholders, and help maintain smooth payroll processes in a fast-paced environment. The role offers an opportunity to contribute analytical insight while supporting payroll-related activities and coordination across teams.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Review payroll data to identify discrepancies, trends, and issues that may affect timely and accurate employee pay.<br>• Process end-to-end payroll activities for a mid-sized employee population while helping ensure compliance with established procedures.<br>• Support multi-state payroll administration by validating earnings, deductions, tax treatment, and employee records.<br>• Partner with HR, finance, managers, and external contacts to resolve payroll questions and communicate updates clearly.<br>• Use ADP Workforce Now to maintain payroll information, audit transactions, and prepare payroll-related reports.<br>• Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including validation of wage and tax information associated with W-2 reporting.<br>• Contribute to payroll improvement efforts and provide support during implementation-related activities when needed.<br>• Document findings and escalate payroll concerns promptly to help minimize processing delays and payment errors.
• Experience handling full-cycle payroll processing in a detail-oriented work environment.<br>• Working knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and common payroll compliance considerations.<br>• Familiarity with payroll systems, including ADP Workforce Now.<br>• Ability to analyze data carefully and identify inconsistencies or unusual payroll results.<br>• Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders.<br>• Payroll and/or HR experience is preferred, though candidates with transferable analytical experience will also be considered.<br>• Experience supporting payroll operations for employee populations ranging from approximately 101 to 500 employees.<br>• Understanding of year-end payroll documentation, including W-2 related processes.
