We are looking for a senior Java developer to support enterprise banking applications in Des Moines, Iowa. This Long-term Contract position calls for a hands-on engineer who can build scalable backend services, contribute to modern API development, and collaborate on user-facing features with Angular and JavaScript. The ideal candidate brings deep experience across Java-based systems, microservices, and database work, along with the ability to deliver reliable solutions in a regulated environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications that support critical banking operations.<br>• Build and enhance RESTful services and microservices to improve system scalability, performance, and integration.<br>• Develop backend components using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Maven while following sound engineering practices.<br>• Partner with front-end developers to deliver responsive features using JavaScript and Angular.<br>• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to support application functionality and data accuracy.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions, review code, and resolve production issues.<br>• Use GitHub and standard version control practices to manage source code and support team-based development.<br>• Contribute to technical design discussions and help implement secure, dependable software solutions for banking platforms.

• 5+ years of software development experience, including senior-level work with Java technologies.<br>• Strong command of Core Java and experience building enterprise-grade backend applications.<br>• Proven expertise in REST API development, REST API design, and microservices architecture.<br>• Hands-on experience with Spring, Spring Boot, and Maven in production environments.<br>• Proficiency with JavaScript and Angular for front-end feature development.<br>• Strong SQL skills, including the ability to read, write, and optimize complex queries.<br>• Experience using GitHub or similar version control tools in a collaborative development setting.<br>• Banking industry experience is preferred.
