We are looking for a Software Engineer to join a team in Columbus, Indiana on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys building reporting solutions, developing scalable applications, and working across modern web and backend technologies. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to data-driven tools and software enhancements while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver practical, high-quality results.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Design, build, and maintain reporting solutions that support business operations and decision-making.<br>• Develop and enhance software applications using technologies within the Microsoft ecosystem, including .NET, along with other modern development tools as needed.<br>• Create and support REST-based integrations that enable reliable communication between internal and external systems.<br>• Write and optimize database queries, stored procedures, and data processes using Oracle PL/SQL and related reporting platforms.<br>• Build user-facing features with JavaScript frameworks such as React.js and Redux to deliver responsive, intuitive interfaces.<br>• Partner with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate business needs into technical solutions, and ensure successful delivery.<br>• Contribute to dashboarding, analytics, and visualization efforts using tools such as SSRS and Microsoft Power BI.<br>• Support emerging development initiatives involving AI-driven capabilities and automation where applicable.

• At least 2 years of experience in software engineering, report development, or a closely related technical role.<br>• Hands-on experience with Python and JavaScript in a production development environment.<br>• Working knowledge of RESTful architecture and integration development.<br>• Experience with reporting and analytics tools such as SSRS and Microsoft Power BI.<br>• Proficiency in database development, including Oracle PL/SQL.<br>• Familiarity with front-end development using React.js and Redux.<br>• Experience with Microsoft-based development technologies such as .NET; exposure to PHP is also beneficial.<br>• Transportation systems platform experience, including McLeod or similar tools, is considered a plus.
