FAST Advisor
We are looking for a FAST Advisor to support students and learners by delivering responsive service and practical guidance on payment options, financial aid-related questions, and university policies. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is based in Virginia and is ideal for someone who can balance empathy, accuracy, and efficiency in a fast-paced service environment. The person in this role will help create a positive experience through thoughtful problem-solving, clear communication, and strong collaboration with financial aid and support teams.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Respond to inbound inquiries and assess each student’s situation to provide accurate guidance aligned with university policies and service standards.<br>• Conduct outbound outreach to students and learners to address account needs, encourage next steps, and support collection-related follow-up efforts.<br>• Partner with Financial Aid Advisors on daily activities, ensuring student records, account details, and related documentation remain current and complete.<br>• Explain financing approaches, payment methods, and policy considerations so students can make informed decisions about their accounts.<br>• Process payments and complete supporting administrative steps with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.<br>• Monitor call volume and service queues while maintaining productivity goals for both incoming and outgoing communications.<br>• Work closely with the Financial Aid Support Team to identify recurring concerns, investigate root causes, and share insights that improve the student experience.<br>• Contribute to a collaborative team culture by participating in coaching conversations, team discussions, and cross-functional support efforts.<br>• Use reporting tools and performance data to track results, recognize trends, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Experience in customer service or call center support, with the ability to manage high-volume phone interactions professionally.<br>• Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Excel for communication, tracking, and basic reporting tasks.<br>• Strong typing and data entry skills with a focus on speed and accuracy.<br>• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and follow established guidelines for student and stakeholder interactions.<br>• Comfortable interpreting policies, procedures, and financial aid-related information in order to provide clear explanations.<br>• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-moving environment.<br>• Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team setting.<br>• Demonstrated problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering a high-quality student service experience.
