We are looking for a Software Integration Engineer to help connect industrial imaging hardware with reliable software systems that support modern manufacturing operations in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In this role, you will work across camera technologies, application software, and backend services to ensure image capture and device performance meet production needs. This position offers the chance to contribute to a growing team focused on practical computer vision solutions used in real factory environments.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Build and support camera capture capabilities within production software workflows used in manufacturing environments.<br>• Create and maintain integrations for GenICam-compatible cameras, including work with Basler and related imaging toolkits when applicable.<br>• Investigate and resolve image acquisition problems such as timing inconsistencies, dropped frames, and synchronization failures.<br>• Adjust and fine-tune imaging settings including exposure, gain, trigger behavior, and lighting coordination for different use cases.<br>• Collaborate with software engineers to extend hardware connectivity and improve backend services for image capture and device management.<br>• Assess suitable lenses, optics, and illumination approaches to improve image quality and application performance.<br>• Develop and maintain interfaces between the platform and customer equipment, including industrial control and automation systems.<br>• Support configuration of real-time monitoring and control environments tied to production operations where needed.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.<br>• At least 3 years of experience working with industrial camera integration in manufacturing, automation, or similar operational settings.<br>• Experience programming in Python for software development, hardware interaction, or system integration tasks.<br>• Hands-on knowledge of industrial imaging platforms, including Basler cameras and associated camera SDKs or APIs.<br>• Familiarity with industrial communication standards such as GigE Vision, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, or OPC UA.<br>• Experience spanning both hardware configuration and software integration in production or industrial environments.<br>• Exposure to PLC programming, PLC-controlled systems, or related automation integrations is strongly preferred.<br>• Understanding of image analysis workflows, video camera systems, and performance optimization for acquisition pipelines.
