<p><b>Systems Engineer</b></p><p>Onsite | Austin, TX | Contract</p><ul><li><br></li><li>Design, implement, and maintain server infrastructure (Windows/Linux environments)</li><li>Manage and support on-premise and cloud systems (AWS, Azure, or GCP)</li><li>Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity to ensure optimal uptime</li><li>Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, applications, and system tools</li><li>Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, outages, and performance bottlenecks</li><li>Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) and container environments when applicable</li><li>Implement and maintain system security, patching, and compliance standards</li><li>Automate system tasks using scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python)</li><li>Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to support infrastructure needs</li><li>Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions</li><li>Maintain documentation for system architecture, configurations, and procedures</li><li>Manage user access, identity, and permissions (Active Directory, IAM)</li><li>Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve system performance and scalability</li><li>Provide technical support and mentorship to junior team members</li></ul>

<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)</li><li>4–8+ years of experience in systems engineering or systems administration</li><li>Strong experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments</li><li>Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)</li><li>Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V)</li><li>Knowledge of networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP)</li><li>Experience with monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Nagios, Datadog, etc.)</li><li>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills</li><li>Experience with automation/scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)</li><li>Familiarity with security best practices and system hardening</li></ul>
