Accounts Payable Specialist
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team on a contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment of invoices, expenses, and vendor accounts. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain efficient workflow and compliance with company policies.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Handle the complete accounts payable cycle, including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor management.<br>• Manage the accounts payable inbox to ensure timely review and approval of incoming invoices.<br>• Process payments using online bill payment systems, wire transfers, and cheque printing as required.<br>• Review and update vendor profiles, ensuring all accounts are accurate and current.<br>• Process employee expense reports using Concur, ensuring proper coding and reconciliation of receipts.<br>• Accurately code invoices and expenses by department, employee, and other relevant categories within the accounting software.<br>• Prepare detailed expense breakdowns in Excel for allocation across departments.<br>• Maintain the contract database and shared drive folders for invoices and supporting documents.<br>• Reconcile monthly prepaid expenses and manage accruals, including preparing journal entries for month-end.<br>• Act as a liaison between vendors, executive assistants, and the finance team, resolving inquiries or issues as they arise.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a related finance role.<br>• Proficiency in accounting software such as Multiview and expense management systems like Concur.<br>• Strong skills in account coding and payment processing, including wire transfers and cheque handling.<br>• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for expense tracking and allocation.<br>• Excellent organizational and communication skills to manage vendor relationships and internal inquiries.<br>• Familiarity with tax remittances and regulatory requirements.<br>• Ability to reconcile bank accounts and manage daily cash flow.<br>• Experience in training employees on expense management systems is an asset.
