We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the financial operations within a healthcare-focused organization. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise and a proactive approach to managing tasks and responsibilities. Responsibilities: • Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. • Oversee month-end close processes, including preparing accruals, journal entries, and financial reports. • Handle treasury functions such as managing bank accounts and processing electronic fund transfers (EFT) payments. • Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and reviews to identify and resolve discrepancies promptly. • Ensure proper tracking and maintenance of fixed assets and prepaid expenses. • Process payments and upload approved documentation while adhering to organizational policies. • Take ownership of accounting tasks and responsibilities, ensuring timely and efficient completion. • Monitor and accrue liabilities while maintaining detailed records for internal audits. • Collaborate with team members to ensure tax compliance and address Canadian tax-related matters. • Proactively address assigned tasks with diligence and a commitment to quality work.

• A minimum of three years of accounting experience in a detail-oriented environment. • Proficiency in accounting systems such as NetSuite, ERP platforms, or similar software. • Solid understanding of Canadian tax regulations and compliance requirements. • Proven ability to manage month-end close activities and financial reporting processes. • Strong organizational skills with experience in balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset management. • Demonstrated ability to handle treasury operations, including bank account management and EFT payments. • Self-motivated and able to work independently, with a results-driven attitude. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
