Sr. Accountant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to join our team in Surrey, British Columbia. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing financial processes, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting critical accounting functions. This role requires a strong understanding of reconciliations, month-end and year-end closings, and intercompany transactions.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p><br></p><p>• Perform reconciliations for accounts such as bank, financing, debt schedules, rent, prepaid expenses, and loans.</p><p>• Oversee and ensure the accuracy of month-end closings within a five-day timeframe.</p><p>• Support year-end closing procedures, completing tasks within a ten-day period.</p><p>• Manage intercompany transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.</p><p>• Prepare and maintain trial balances, including management of approximately 10 active accounts.</p><p>• Update year-end preparation schedules and assist with auditor requirements starting in January.</p><p>• Conduct journal entries and general ledger maintenance to ensure precise financial records.</p><p>• Utilize tools such as Excel and Great Plains Dynamics to streamline accounting processes.</p><p>• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.</p>
<p>Requirements:</p><p><br></p><p>• Proven experience in account reconciliation, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.</p><p>• Proficiency in preparing and managing trial balances with attention to detail.</p><p>• Strong skills in month-end and year-end closing processes.</p><p>• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including formulas and data analysis.</p><p>• Familiarity with Great Plains Dynamics or similar accounting software.</p><p>• Solid understanding of general ledger and journal entry processes.</p><p>• Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.</p><p>• Excellent organizational and communication skills to collaborate effectively within a team.</p>
