Sr. Cost Accountant
<p>We are looking for an experienced Senior Cost Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Langley, British Columbia. In this role, you will play a vital part in analyzing and optimizing costs within a manufacturing environment while working closely with operational and accounting teams. This is a short-term contract position with the potential for extension based on future needs.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p><br></p><p>• Conduct detailed analysis of packaging costs and bill of materials across a diverse range of SKUs to determine accurate cost allocations.</p><p>• Utilize various costing methods, including fully loaded costs, production waste, purchase costs, and overhead costs, to develop comprehensive costing models.</p><p>• Prepare regular cost updates, including monthly and quarterly reports, to support financial planning and decision-making.</p><p>• Collaborate with accounting and operational leaders to ensure accurate cost data and effective communication regarding financial metrics.</p><p>• Leverage advanced Excel skills to manage and analyze large datasets, ensuring data accuracy and efficiency.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with manufacturing cost accounting standards and practices, delivering results within tight timelines.</p><p>• Assess and refine cost models to identify opportunities for reducing operating expenses and improving cost efficiency.</p><p>• Provide insights into cost variances and recommend strategies for improving profitability.</p><p>• Support the implementation of accurate costing methods tailored to the unique needs of the manufacturing environment.</p>
<p>Requirements:</p><p><br></p><p>• Extensive experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.</p><p>• Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions for data analysis and reporting.</p><p>• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.</p><p>• Ability to work on-site and meet demanding deadlines.</p><p>• Proven ability to analyze and develop cost models for manufacturing processes.</p><p>• Knowledge of standard costing methods and familiarity with software such as Sage X3.</p><p>• Demonstrated expertise in variance analysis and cost reduction strategies.</p><p>• Experience in managing cost-of-goods, product costing, and manufacturing costs.</p><p><br></p>
