Controller
We are looking for a Controller to lead the firm’s internal finance function in Coquitlam, British Columbia. In this role, you will oversee financial reporting, planning, compliance, and operational analysis while supporting leadership with timely, practical insights. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a collaborative, detail-focused environment that values development, accountability, and continuous improvement.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Direct the organization’s day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely internal financial reporting.<br>• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including review of reconciliations, entries, and supporting documentation.<br>• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and analysis that help leadership assess performance and make informed decisions.<br>• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning process, and provide recommendations based on trends and financial results.<br>• Strengthen internal controls, refine finance procedures, and support risk management through consistent oversight and process review.<br>• Oversee payroll administration, statutory remittances, and compliance with tax and other regulatory obligations.<br>• Identify opportunities to improve finance systems, automate routine work, and enhance reporting capabilities across the firm.<br>• Maintain productive relationships with external advisors, banking partners, and other service providers.<br>• Support and guide team members by sharing knowledge, setting clear expectations, and encouraging a high-performance, collaborative culture.<br>• Contribute to strategic and cross-functional initiatives as a financial advisor to ownership and senior leadership.
<p>• Completion of a post-secondary degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.</p><p>• CPA designation or an equivalent Canadian accounting credential.</p><p>• At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance leadership roles.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, payroll, and compliance requirements.</p><p>• Hands-on experience with accounting software and reporting tools, including Power BI or similar business intelligence platforms.</p><p>• Ability to analyze financial information, prepare ad hoc reports, and communicate recommendations clearly to leadership.</p><p>• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines.</p><p><br></p><p>If this sounds like the role for you, please apply today!
