Finance Manager
We are looking for a Finance Manager to support financial operations for a Contract position based in White River Junction, Vermont. This role will oversee core accounting and planning activities, including close processes, reporting, and forward-looking analysis, while helping leaders make informed financial decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in nonprofit finance, applies GAAP principles with confidence, and can translate complex data into clear business insights.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Lead the monthly close cycle by reviewing account activity, preparing reconciliations, and ensuring timely completion of all required financial tasks.<br>• Build and maintain financial models that support budgeting, scenario planning, and operational decision-making across the organization.<br>• Prepare accurate financial reports for leadership, highlighting trends, variances, and key performance indicators.<br>• Conduct detailed financial analysis to evaluate results, identify risks, and recommend actions to improve performance.<br>• Develop forecasts that reflect changing business conditions and provide a reliable view of short- and long-term financial outlook.<br>• Support nonprofit accounting activities by maintaining compliance with funding requirements, reporting standards, and organizational policies.<br>• Apply GAAP accounting standards across financial processes to promote accuracy, consistency, and strong internal controls.
• At least 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a closely related field.<br>• Demonstrated success managing month-end close activities in a detail-focused finance environment.<br>• Hands-on experience creating financial models, forecasts, and analytical tools for business planning.<br>• Strong background in financial reporting and the ability to present data clearly to stakeholders.<br>• Working knowledge of nonprofit accounting practices and related financial considerations.<br>• Solid understanding of GAAP and its practical application in day-to-day accounting operations.<br>• High attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
