<p><strong>Software Developer II (Backend / Cloud)</strong></p><p><strong>Location:</strong> Torrance, CA</p><p><strong>Work Arrangement:</strong> Onsite 4 days per week</p><p><strong>Contract Duration:</strong> 44‑week contract with potential for extension</p><p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Software Developer II</strong> to support enterprise‑scale digital applications in a modern cloud environment. This role focuses on backend and cloud‑native development, contributing to the design, development, deployment, and production support of critical digital solutions that enhance customer and business experiences.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design, develop, and maintain backend services using <strong>Java</strong> and modern open‑source frameworks</li><li>Build and support <strong>microservices</strong> and <strong>serverless/event‑driven architectures</strong></li><li>Develop scalable solutions using <strong>AWS cloud services</strong></li><li>Collaborate with cross‑functional teams across design, engineering, and operations</li><li>Support full application lifecycle including development, deployment, and production support</li><li>Implement and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines</li><li>Ensure solutions adhere to cloud security best practices</li><li>Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives</li></ul>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>5–8 years of professional software development experience</li><li>Strong backend Java experience using frameworks such as <strong>Spring Boot</strong> and <strong>Spring Data JPA</strong></li><li>Hands‑on experience with AWS services including <strong>Lambda, SQS, S3, EC2, SNS, EventBridge, MSK, and MQ</strong></li><li>Solid understanding of <strong>JVM internals</strong>, concurrency, and functional programming concepts (Lambda expressions, Streams API)</li><li>Experience with <strong>containerization and orchestration technologies</strong> (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS, OpenShift)</li><li>Proficiency with <strong>NoSQL databases</strong> (DynamoDB or similar) and <strong>relational databases</strong> (RDS, PostgreSQL, etc.)</li><li>Experience building CI/CD pipelines using <strong>Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline</strong></li><li>Knowledge of cloud security practices including <strong>IAM</strong>, encryption at rest and in transit, and <strong>OAuth2/JWT</strong></li><li>Experience working within <strong>Agile development methodologies</strong></li></ul><p><strong>•Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field</li><li>Experience supporting enterprise‑scale or customer‑facing digital platforms</li></ul>
