Security Analyst II
<p>We are looking for a highly skilled Security Analyst II to join our team in Southern California. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in ensuring the security and integrity of our network infrastructure and systems. This role requires onsite work four days per week and occasional travel, providing the opportunity to contribute to a leading organization.</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Configure, manage, and maintain Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewalls, including creating and optimizing policies, rules, and threat prevention profiles.</p><p>• Administer and troubleshoot Cisco Firepower devices, including handling access control lists (ACLs), VPNs, and network policies.</p><p>• Monitor security alerts, analyze traffic anomalies, and review firewall logs to identify and address potential threats.</p><p>• Investigate and resolve network-based security incidents in coordination with incident response teams.</p><p>• Perform regular reviews and updates of firewall rules to enhance performance and minimize risks.</p><p>• Support secure network connectivity across data centers, cloud environments, and branch sites.</p><p>• Troubleshoot network issues related to routing, switching, and connectivity impacts on security appliances.</p><p>• Assist in deploying secure architectures for new network builds, migrations, and cloud integrations.</p><p>• Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, network diagrams, and operational procedures.</p><p>• Contribute to compliance activities and enforcement of security hardening standards based on established frameworks.</p>
• Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in network security operations or firewall engineering.<br>• Hands-on expertise with Palo Alto Networks PA series, Panorama, and GlobalProtect.<br>• Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Cisco Firepower devices and VPN configurations.<br>• Strong analytical skills to monitor, investigate, and escalate security events.<br>• Familiarity with network protocols and troubleshooting layer 2/3 connectivity issues.<br>• Experience with compliance documentation and adherence to security frameworks like ISO 27001.<br>• Ability to work onsite four days per week and travel as required.<br>• Effective communication skills and attention to detail in maintaining logs and documentation.
