Litigation Paralegal
<p>We are looking for a Litigation Paralegal to join a plaintiff-side personal injury practice in San Diego, California. This contract-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who can manage a busy caseload, support matters from intake through trial preparation, and work closely with attorneys and clients in a collaborative office environment. The position offers hands-on involvement in case development, discovery, filings, and trial support while maintaining consistent communication and strong organizational control across active files.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Oversee a substantial personal injury caseload by keeping files current, organized, and moving efficiently through each stage of litigation.</p><p>• Conduct new client intake activities, gather preliminary case information, and assist attorneys with early matter assessment.</p><p>• Assemble and maintain case materials for state and federal court matters, ensuring records, pleadings, and supporting documents are properly organized.</p><p>• Review medical documentation and prepare clear summaries to support case strategy and damages evaluation.</p><p>• Draft demand packages and other case-related materials with accuracy and attention to detail.</p><p>• Coordinate discovery by preparing requests, drafting responses, and tracking deadlines to keep matters on schedule.</p><p>• Manage filing and calendar obligations through e-filing platforms such as OneLegal, Outlook, and related case management tools.</p><p>• Prepare trial binders, exhibits, and supporting materials, and provide direct assistance during trial preparation and selected trial proceedings.</p><p>• Maintain regular communication with clients, attorneys, and team members to provide updates, resolve questions, and support case progress.</p>
• At least 3 years of paralegal experience supporting litigation matters, preferably within plaintiff personal injury law.<br>• Demonstrated ability to handle a high-volume caseload, including managing approximately 30 to 45 active files at one time.<br>• Strong working knowledge of discovery processes, trial preparation, case management, and electronic court filing procedures.<br>• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to monitor deadlines, maintain accuracy, and prioritize competing demands.<br>• Confidence collaborating with attorneys and colleagues while asking thoughtful questions to ensure high-quality work.<br>• Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients and preparing case documentation.<br>• A proactive and adaptable approach, with genuine interest in learning and contributing across different phases of a case.
