Facilities Assistant
We are looking for a Facilities Assistant to support day-to-day building operations for clinic environments in California. This contract position is focused on helping maintain safe, organized, and detail-oriented spaces for patients, visitors, and staff while ensuring facility needs are addressed promptly. The role works closely with internal teams, vendors, and property management to keep locations running smoothly and with minimal disruption.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Carry out daily facility support tasks, complete operational checklists, and submit follow-up work orders for items needing additional attention.<br>• Address routine maintenance needs by assessing minor issues with lighting, appliances, and equipment, and taking appropriate action to resolve or escalate them.<br>• Perform basic upkeep such as surface touch-ups, light painting, and small repairs to walls, ceilings, floors, and other interior areas.<br>• Coordinate site visits for service providers, guide vendors while they are on location, and maintain productive communication with building management.<br>• Keep storage rooms and workspaces orderly, identify safety concerns, and help ensure exits and access routes remain clear.<br>• Respond to facility-related requests across assigned clinic locations in a timely manner to support uninterrupted operations.<br>• Contribute to workplace safety efforts by participating in safety activities and encouraging adherence to established safe work practices.<br>• Maintain accurate service records and task updates in maintenance and ticketing systems, including CMMS tools and related documentation.<br>• Assist with scheduled preventative maintenance activities and help arrange outside support for repairs and recurring service needs.<br>• Communicate clearly with leadership, clinic staff, and cross-functional partners to support efficient coordination of facility services.
• Previous experience in facilities support, maintenance, office services, or a comparable operational role is preferred.<br>• Working knowledge of general building upkeep, minor repair techniques, and workplace safety standards.<br>• Ability to manage routine maintenance requests independently and determine when issues should be escalated.<br>• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple assignments and maintain attention to detail.<br>• Detail-oriented and service-focused communication skills when working with staff, visitors, vendors, and property teams.<br>• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or other work order tracking platforms is preferred.<br>• Comfort supporting conference room readiness, vendor coordination, and administrative tools such as timekeeping or service request systems.
