<p>We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead the finance and accounting function for a manufacturing operation in the Springfield, MO area. This role partners closely with plant leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and provide practical analysis that supports operational and strategic decisions. If you or someone you know comes with a manufacturing industry background and worked in a Controller capacity supporting a team and looking for a change, please contact Melissa Valenzuela at 816-601-1192 for further details. </p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Lead the day-to-day work of the accounting team, ensuring core financial activities are completed accurately and on schedule.</p><p>• Oversee compliance with corporate accounting policies and maintain disciplined financial processes across the facility.</p><p>• Produce reliable financial statements and reporting packages that give leadership clear visibility into business performance.</p><p>• Build budgets and financial plans, track results against targets, investigate variances, and recommend corrective actions to improve outcomes.</p><p>• Safeguard company assets by maintaining effective internal controls and validating the accuracy of account balances and valuations.</p><p>• Develop reporting tools and management information that help department leaders monitor results and make informed decisions.</p><p>• Evaluate key manufacturing and financial metrics such as sales, margins, overhead, scrap, inventory, and product costs to identify trends and opportunities.</p><p>• Support capital spending reviews, inventory analysis, product costing, and operational reporting tied to plant performance.</p><p>• Drive continuous improvement through process refinement, employee development, and waste reduction initiatives.</p><p>• Prepare required reports for corporate leadership and government agencies while communicating effectively with stakeholders at multiple levels</p>

<p>• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.</p><p>• At least 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including broad responsibility across multiple financial disciplines.</p><p>• Minimum of 4 years of leadership experience managing accounting or finance staff.</p><p>• Hands-on background in manufacturing accounting, including product costing, inventory valuation, and cost analysis.</p><p>• Demonstrated experience with month-end close, financial statement preparation, internal controls, and variance analysis.</p><p>• Knowledge of bills of materials, raw material inventory, and operational cost drivers within a manufacturing environment.</p><p>• Internal audit experience or formal exposure to audit practices is strongly preferred.</p><p>• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and support operational leadership.</p>
