Cable Technician
<p>Our client is looking for an entry-level Cable Technician to join their team in Salt Lake City, Utah. </p><p><br></p><p>In this 6-month Contract-to-Permanent position, you will play a vital role in the installation and maintenance of network cabling systems, supporting critical infrastructure projects. This role involves both technical expertise and physical tasks, including working at heights and traveling frequently to bordering states.</p><p><br></p><p>This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to break into the Technology field, with opportunities for growth within the organization!</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p><br></p><p>• Install and terminate Cat5 and Cat6 cables with precision and efficiency.</p><p>• Set up and maintain fiber optic cables while distinguishing between fiber and copper systems.</p><p>• Implement and service access control systems and video surveillance equipment.</p><p>• Perform high-ceiling cabling tasks, requiring work on ladders or lifts exceeding six feet.</p><p>• Travel extensively to various project sites in and around Utah and nearby states, with all travel expenses reimbursed.</p><p>• Build and organize server racks and assist with data center and office installations.</p><p>• Execute wiring and node installations during apartment complex remodels and new builds.</p><p>• Punch down cables to communication rooms and switches, ensuring reliable connectivity.</p>
<p>• Ideally a minimum of 1 year experience in cable installation and network cabling.</p><p>• Must have a go-getter mentality and be able to collaborate effectively with a team of other cable technicians. </p><p>• Proficiency in working with Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic systems.</p><p>• Familiarity with access control and video surveillance systems.</p><p>• Ability to perform physical tasks, including working on ladders or lifts over six feet.</p><p>• Willingness to travel extensively for project assignments.</p><p>• Knowledge of communication room setups and fiber optic installations preferred.</p><p>• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.</p><p>• Capability to work collaboratively in team environments and independently when needed</p>
