Network Engineer
We are looking for a Network Engineer to support a growing retail organization in San Francisco, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on onsite environment and can strengthen office connectivity, collaboration technology, and end-user support. The role focuses on building out reliable network infrastructure, improving wireless performance, and helping create a scalable IT foundation for an expanding team.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee the deployment and optimization of network infrastructure for a newly established 7,000-square-foot office in San Francisco, California.<br>• Plan and execute the transition from Ubiquiti/Unifi equipment to Cisco Meraki solutions to improve consistency, visibility, and network reliability.<br>• Diagnose and resolve WiFi and internet performance issues to maintain dependable connectivity for onsite employees and meeting spaces.<br>• Configure and support four conference rooms, including audiovisual components, Zoom integration, and room scheduling displays.<br>• Deliver onsite technical assistance for employee onboarding, offboarding, workstation setup, and daily ticket resolution across hardware and connectivity needs.<br>• Partner with engineering leadership and the broader IT organization to prioritize local infrastructure needs and establish effective support processes.<br>• Help build foundational IT operations in a growing environment by identifying gaps, recommending improvements, and supporting rollout activities.<br>• Travel occasionally to another company office when needed to provide hands-on infrastructure and technical support.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking technologies, including routers, switching, and Meraki administration.<br>• Strong understanding of wireless networking, internet connectivity troubleshooting, and office network performance tuning.<br>• Background supporting conference room technology, including Zoom, room booking systems, and audiovisual equipment.<br>• Proficiency with both Mac and Windows environments, including device setup and end-user hardware support.<br>• Ability to provide onsite desktop support and manage a steady volume of technical service requests effectively.<br>• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where infrastructure and support processes are still being established.<br>• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work closely with engineering leaders, IT teams, and office staff.
