Staff Accountant
We are looking for a skilled and meticulous Staff Accountant to join our team in Saint Peters, Missouri on a contract basis. In this role, you will manage essential accounting tasks, including financial reconciliations, journal entries, and reporting, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with established standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to key financial processes and support organizational objectives.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Conduct monthly general ledger reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.<br>• Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the accounting system.<br>• Coordinate workflow tasks and provide training to less experienced staff to ensure efficient operations.<br>• Input, review, and retrieve financial data within the accounting system to support reporting and analysis.<br>• Assist with year-end closing and prepare audit schedules to facilitate external reviews.<br>• Generate and validate routine and specialized financial reports for stakeholders.<br>• Prepare invoices in alignment with organizational policies and agreements.<br>• Address inquiries regarding accounting procedures, forms, and policies in a precise and careful manner.<br>• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and accounting standards in all financial activities.<br>• Support additional accounting tasks as needed by management.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.<br>• Strong knowledge of corporate tax, including sales tax and corporate tax returns.<br>• Proficiency in journal entries and general ledger management.<br>• Experience with financial reconciliations and reporting.<br>• Ability to interpret and adhere to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.<br>• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.<br>• Strong communication skills for training and addressing inquiries.<br>• Familiarity with accounting systems and data processing workflows.
