Intake Coordinator
We are looking for an Intake Coordinator to join a non-profit organization in Richmond, Virginia on a Contract basis. This position focuses on supporting individuals who face barriers to employment by guiding them through intake, connecting them with services, and helping create pathways to sustainable work. The role works closely with community partners and internal teams to deliver responsive, person-centered support while maintaining accurate documentation and program data.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Engage prospective participants through outreach efforts and complete intake activities to identify employment goals, immediate needs, and service barriers.<br>• Assist individuals with applications and connect them to community-based programs, benefits, and support resources using a respectful, participant-focused approach.<br>• Coordinate employment-related support services and advocate for reasonable accommodations or other needs that may improve job readiness and retention.<br>• Partner with case management, career services, talent acquisition, human resources, and other internal teams to align support strategies with participant success plans.<br>• Maintain regular communication with staff and partners to ensure timely access to services, referrals, and follow-up support.<br>• Represent the organization at job fairs, community gatherings, and partner meetings to expand awareness of available workforce development services.<br>• Build and strengthen relationships with local organizations and stakeholders to broaden employment opportunities for individuals facing challenges to work.<br>• Track referrals, participant engagement, and progress milestones while ensuring prompt follow-up and dependable status updates.<br>• Prepare and maintain complete intake files, assessments, case notes, and related program records in accordance with organizational guidelines.<br>• Compile reports, outcome data, and performance metrics to support program evaluation, stakeholder updates, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Experience supporting client intake, participant onboarding, or related service coordination activities.<br>• Ability to assist with applications and guide individuals through administrative processes with accuracy and empathy.<br>• Strong documentation skills, including maintaining organized records within a content management system (CMS) or similar database.<br>• Capacity to manage multiple cases or referrals in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.<br>• Effective communication and relationship-building skills for working with participants, colleagues, and community partners.<br>• Ability to review files for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established procedures.<br>• Comfort with tracking data, preparing reports, and monitoring outcomes to support program goals.
