<p><strong>Location: </strong>Remote/Telework</p><p><strong>Clearance:</strong> Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust</p><p>Position Overview</p><p>We are seeking a <strong>Senior OpenShift / Kubernetes GitOps &amp; CI/CD Engineer</strong> to help design and build an enterprise application delivery capability supporting a large federal environment.</p><p>This is a highly hands-on engineering opportunity for someone who wants to build rather than simply maintain. The environment is transitioning workloads from traditional virtualized infrastructure toward containerized applications running on <strong>Red Hat OpenShift/Kubernetes</strong>, with the CI/CD and GitOps ecosystem being established from an early baseline. </p><p>You will help define the target architecture, engineering standards, reusable pipeline patterns, security controls, and application onboarding model. You&#39;ll work across application development, platform engineering, security, automation, observability, and Operations teams to create a secure and repeatable software delivery process.</p><p>The target technology ecosystem includes <strong>OpenShift, Kubernetes, GitHub Enterprise, Tekton/OpenShift Pipelines, Argo CD/OpenShift GitOps, Buildah, Quay, Helm, Kustomize, Nexus/Artifactory, Red Hat ACS, CyberArk, ServiceNow, and Datadog</strong>. Comparable technologies are absolutely relevant where the underlying experience is transferable. </p><p><br></p><p>What You&#39;ll Be Doing</p><ul><li>Architect and build an enterprise <strong>GitOps and CI/CD capability</strong> from initial design through production implementation.</li><li>Develop reusable <strong>Tekton/OpenShift Pipeline</strong> patterns covering application builds, testing, security validation, container image creation, and promotion.</li><li>Design <strong>Argo CD / OpenShift GitOps</strong> deployment models covering desired-state configuration, automated reconciliation, environment promotion, rollback, and drift management.</li><li>Help transition applications from traditional VM-based environments into <strong>containerized OpenShift/Kubernetes workloads</strong>.</li><li>Establish standardized <strong>GitHub Enterprise</strong> repository and development practices, including pull requests, branching strategies, CODEOWNERS, branch protection, approvals, and promotion workflows.</li><li>Build secure container image workflows using <strong>Buildah or comparable container build technologies</strong>, with an emphasis on provenance, traceability, and immutable image identification.</li><li>Integrate CI/CD pipelines with <strong>Nexus and/or Artifactory</strong> while establishing <strong>Quay</strong> as the container image registry.</li><li>Incorporate security directly into the software delivery lifecycle through <strong>Red Hat Advanced Cluster Security (ACS)</strong> and automated vulnerability/security gates.</li><li>Develop repeatable <strong>Helm and Kustomize</strong> deployment standards for applications and environment-specific configuration.</li><li>Integrate delivery workflows with enterprise platforms such as <strong>CyberArk, Entra ID/RBAC, ServiceNow, and Datadog</strong>.</li><li><br></li></ul>

<p>Required Qualifications</p><p>We&#39;re looking for someone with strong hands-on experience in several of the following areas:</p><ul><li><strong>8+ years of relevant IT/engineering experience</strong> with a bachelor&#39;s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Strong production experience with <strong>Red Hat OpenShift and/or Kubernetes</strong>.</li><li>Proven experience designing, building, or operating enterprise <strong>CI/CD and GitOps environments</strong>.</li><li>Hands-on experience building delivery pipelines using technologies such as:</li><li>Tekton / OpenShift Pipelines</li><li>GitHub Actions</li><li>GitLab CI/CD</li><li>Jenkins</li><li>Azure DevOps</li><li>Comparable enterprise CI/CD platforms</li><li>Experience with GitOps technologies such as <strong>Argo CD, OpenShift GitOps, Flux, or similar platforms</strong>.</li><li>Strong understanding of <strong>containerized application delivery</strong>, including image creation, registries, deployment, promotion, and rollback.</li><li>Experience with container technologies such as <strong>Buildah, Docker/BuildKit, Quay, Harbor, or comparable technologies</strong>.</li><li>Experience with <strong>Helm, Kustomize</strong>, or similar Kubernetes configuration and packaging approaches.</li><li>Working knowledge of Git-based engineering practices, including source control, branching, pull requests, repository governance, automated validation, and code review.</li><li>Experience integrating CI/CD or platform automation with areas such as <strong>security scanning, RBAC, identity, secrets management, observability, and change management</strong>.</li><li>Strong troubleshooting skills across applications, Kubernetes/OpenShift platforms, infrastructure, networking, and delivery tooling.</li></ul>
