Planner
<p>We are looking for a detail-oriented Planner to join a manufacturing team in Otsego, Michigan on a Contract basis. This position supports purchasing and production coordination by helping keep materials, schedules, and inventory information accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with data, communicating across teams and with suppliers, and contributing to the smooth flow of operations in a fast-paced environment. This role is 100% onsite, M-F 7am-4pm, contract ONLY for 2-3 months.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Maintain planning schedules, production records, and reporting tools to track material movement and resource availability throughout the manufacturing cycle.</p><p>• Complete system entries that support the receipt, storage, and movement of materials across operational areas.</p><p>• Monitor inventory activity, prepare tracking reports, and perform accurate data updates to support daily purchasing and planning needs.</p><p>• Serve as a coordination point between planning leadership and value stream operations to help ensure scheduling processes are followed correctly.</p><p>• Communicate with suppliers regarding overdue purchase orders and follow up on delivery timing to reduce disruptions.</p><p>• Carry out daily job scheduling activities and review Kanban priorities to support production flow.</p><p>• Learn and use inventory management software to complete monthly usage reviews and maintain reliable material planning data.</p>
• Currently pursuing a college degree at the senior level or already holds a degree in Business, Engineering, Materials Management, or a related field.<br>• Ability to analyze information and apply technical understanding to business processes and automation opportunities.<br>• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.<br>• Intermediate to advanced computer proficiency, including comfort working within business systems and data-driven tools.<br>• Working knowledge of electronic transaction processing and system-based recordkeeping.<br>• Supply chain management certification is preferred.<br>• Experience or familiarity with purchasing activities, purchase orders, and scheduling in a manufacturing environment is beneficial.
