Controller
We are looking for a detail-oriented Controller to support financial operations and document management for a Contract position based in Orrington, Maine. This role combines hands-on accounting oversight with organized records handling, making it well suited for someone who can manage both financial accuracy and administrative precision. The ideal candidate brings practical experience with month-end activities, reconciliations, and day-to-day payables and receivables while maintaining well-structured documentation.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee core accounting activities, including tracking financial transactions and maintaining accurate supporting records.<br>• Manage month-end close tasks by reviewing entries, organizing financial documentation, and helping ensure timely completion of reporting activities.<br>• Reconcile accounts on a regular basis to identify discrepancies, resolve variances, and maintain reliable financial data.<br>• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with close attention to accuracy, completeness, and deadlines.<br>• Use QuickBooks Online to record, review, and maintain financial information for daily accounting operations.<br>• Organize document control processes by collecting, compiling, and maintaining business records in an orderly and accessible format.<br>• Scan and archive paper files to create complete digital records and support efficient retrieval of important documents.<br>• Review compiled documents for completeness and consistency before filing or distributing them to the appropriate parties.
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, controllership support, or a related finance position.<br>• Working knowledge of month-end close procedures and account reconciliation practices.<br>• Experience handling accounts payable and accounts receivable functions in a detail-focused setting.<br>• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and confidence using accounting systems for daily transaction management.<br>• Background in document control, document scanning, and compiling files in a structured environment.<br>• Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage financial data and records accurately.<br>• Ability to organize priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a contract role.
