Assistant Controller
<p>Company Overview</p><p>A growing construction contractor is seeking an Assistant Controller to support financial operations within a project-based construction environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Position Overview</p><p>The Assistant Controller partners closely with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective financial management. This role requires a strong background in construction accounting.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Financial Reporting</li><li>Assist in preparing timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements</li><li>Analyze financial data and support leadership decision-making</li><li>Construction Accounting (Required)</li><li>Manage project accounting including job costing, revenue recognition, and WIP analysis</li><li>Partner with project managers to ensure accurate project financials</li><li>Budgeting & Forecasting</li><li>Support annual budgeting and ongoing forecast processes</li><li>Perform variance analysis and financial modeling</li><li>Internal Controls & Compliance</li><li>Maintain and enhance internal controls</li><li>Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations</li><li>Audit Support</li><li>Serve as a key contact for external auditors</li><li>Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation</li><li>Team Collaboration</li><li>Work cross-functionally with operations and procurement</li><li>Support and mentor accounting staff</li></ul><p>For immediate consideration regarding the Assistant Controller position, please send your resume to Mitch Anderson, VP and Practice Director. ***You can find my email on LinkedIn (Mitch Anderson, MBA) to send me your resume directly. <p>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required</p><p>5+ years of accounting experience with construction accounting expertise required</p><p>Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting</p><p>Experience with construction/project accounting systems</p>
