Plant Controller
We are looking for an experienced Plant Controller to lead financial management for our manufacturing operation in Ogden, Utah. This role serves as a trusted advisor to plant leadership, translating financial results into practical guidance that supports performance, efficiency, and long-term growth. The successful candidate will bring strong manufacturing accounting expertise, sound business judgment, and the ability to strengthen controls while helping teams achieve operational and financial goals.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Direct the plant’s core finance activities, including annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, monthly close, and management reporting, to ensure timely and reliable financial insight.<br>• Partner with site leadership and divisional finance to shape plans, evaluate performance, and support strategic decisions with clear financial analysis.<br>• Review plant results, operating trends, and key metrics to identify risks, explain variances, and recommend actions that improve margin and productivity.<br>• Oversee cost accounting and inventory finance processes, ensuring accurate valuation, disciplined controls, and effective support for cycle counts and physical inventories.<br>• Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to connect operational activity with financial outcomes and improve overall business performance.<br>• Assess capital spending proposals, track project results, and provide financial justification to confirm investments align with business priorities.<br>• Maintain adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and regulatory expectations while supporting both internal and external audit activities.<br>• Lead and develop the plant finance team by setting clear expectations, strengthening capabilities, and promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• 5+ years of finance or accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.<br>• Strong background in manufacturing cost accounting, including standard cost accounting principles and analysis.<br>• Experience managing month-end close activities and preparing accurate financial reporting.<br>• Knowledge of inventory accounting practices and financial controls within a plant setting.<br>• Ability to interpret operational and financial data to support decision-making and profitability improvement.<br>• Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional leaders in production, engineering, and supply chain.<br>• Demonstrated leadership skills with experience coaching, developing, or guiding finance staff.<br>• Familiarity with Eaton systems or related manufacturing finance platforms is preferred.
