Cable Technician
We are looking for a Cable Technician to support structured cabling and network device installation for a Contract position based in Northridge, California. This role focuses on hands-on field work, including cable installation, termination, testing, and equipment support in an active technical environment. The ideal candidate brings practical experience with low-voltage cabling and can work effectively with a lead technician to complete projects accurately and on schedule.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Install CAT6 cabling by routing lines through designated pathways and completing clean, organized runs.<br>• Terminate network cables and verify connections meet quality and performance standards.<br>• Test installed cabling, identify faults, and confirm each line is properly labeled for documentation and future support.<br>• Assist with the installation and activation of wireless access points and associated network hardware.<br>• Support setup activities involving patch panels, switches, and other IT infrastructure components.<br>• Partner with the lead technician on-site to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.<br>• Use hand tools and power tools to perform cabling work in accordance with site requirements and industry practices.
• Hands-on experience installing, terminating, testing, and labeling CAT5e and CAT6 cabling.<br>• Working knowledge of wireless access points, network switches, and patch panel connectivity.<br>• Understanding of structured cabling standards, common terminology, and installation best practices.<br>• Ability to use basic hand tools and power tools safely and effectively on job sites.<br>• Familiarity with cable testers, crimpers, and related cabling tools used in low-voltage installations.<br>• Previous experience supporting cable pulling projects in commercial or technical environments.<br>• Ownership of personal cabling tools, such as a crimper or similar equipment, is strongly preferred.
