We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee financial operations and provide strong accounting leadership for a finance consulting environment in Midland, Texas. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate reporting, guiding close activities, and strengthening financial processes that support sound business decisions. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to accounting management, a sharp eye for detail, and a commitment to compliance and operational discipline.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Direct core accounting activities across the organization, including ledger management, payables, receivables, payroll-related accounting, and project-based financial tracking.<br>• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close cycles to deliver complete and reliable financial results on schedule.<br>• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting reports to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with reporting standards.<br>• Establish, refine, and enforce accounting procedures and internal control measures that protect assets and reduce financial risk.<br>• Monitor daily financial transactions and resolve discrepancies to maintain clean records and dependable account balances.<br>• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights, support planning efforts, and improve visibility into business performance.<br>• Oversee accounting documentation and record retention practices to promote organized, audit-ready financial files.<br>• Support process improvements within the accounting function, including updates to workflows, controls, or systems when needed.

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within a controller or senior accounting capacity.<br>• Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting, financial close procedures, and financial statement preparation.<br>• Experience overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, and project accounting functions.<br>• Solid understanding of internal controls, accounting policies, and compliance-focused financial operations.<br>• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in documentation, reconciliations, and financial review.<br>• Ability to organize, compile, and maintain financial records and supporting documents efficiently.<br>• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced setting.
