AML Analyst
We are looking for a detail-oriented AML Analyst to support anti-money laundering review activities in McLean, Virginia. This Contract position focuses on examining customer transaction records, identifying unusual cash activity, and helping ensure regulatory reporting obligations are met for transactions that exceed reporting thresholds. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical ability, sound judgment, and a commitment to accuracy in a highly regulated environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Review customer files and transaction activity to identify cash transactions that meet or exceed regulatory reporting thresholds.<br>• Analyze account behavior for irregular patterns or indicators that may suggest suspicious or prohibited financial activity.<br>• Prepare and document findings to support required currency transaction reporting in accordance with applicable compliance standards.<br>• Maintain accurate case notes, research results, and supporting documentation for audit and regulatory review purposes.<br>• Escalate potentially concerning activity to appropriate compliance or investigative teams based on established procedures.<br>• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to clarify transaction details, gather missing information, and resolve review items efficiently.<br>• Apply anti-money laundering policies and reporting rules consistently while meeting quality and productivity expectations.
• Bachelor’s or Honours degree required.<br>• Knowledge of anti-money laundering principles and financial crime compliance practices.<br>• Ability to review transaction data carefully and recognize patterns, anomalies, and reporting triggers.<br>• Strong written documentation skills with close attention to detail and accuracy.<br>• Comfortable working with customer records, financial data, and case management tools.<br>• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills in a deadline-driven environment.<br>• Ability to communicate findings clearly and escalate issues appropriately.
