Systems Administrator
<p>We are seeking a <strong>Systems Administrator</strong> to own the deployment, maintenance, and support of systems, software, and tools across our manufacturing lines. This role blends traditional systems administration with elements of network and endpoint support, focused on keeping <strong>production‑critical environments secure, reliable, and optimized for high‑throughput operations</strong>.</p><p>You will work closely with <strong>manufacturing teams, engineers, operations, and cybersecurity</strong> to ensure factory systems remain stable, secure, and available in time‑sensitive environments.</p><p>This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands‑on, visible on the factory floor, and directly supporting business‑critical operations.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p><ul><li>Deploy, configure, and maintain <strong>servers, endpoints, hardware, and software systems</strong> across manufacturing lines, managing the full lifecycle from provisioning through retirement.</li><li>Build, harden, and support <strong>physical and virtual servers</strong> for manufacturing applications, ensuring performance, security, and high availability.</li><li>Monitor <strong>system, server, and network performance</strong> across production environments and proactively address issues that could impact throughput or uptime.</li><li>Support deployment and integration of <strong>factory workstations, endpoints, printers, and production equipment</strong>, coordinating closely with engineering and operations teams.</li><li>Provide hands‑on troubleshooting for <strong>hardware, software, server, and connectivity issues</strong> in fast‑paced, production‑critical scenarios.</li><li>Implement and maintain <strong>security controls</strong>, access management, endpoint hardening, and compliance standards across systems and infrastructure.</li><li>Maintain accurate <strong>asset inventories, configuration documentation, and system records</strong>.</li><li>Document deployments, configuration standards, troubleshooting procedures, and recommended improvements to increase reliability and scalability.</li><li>Deliver <strong>strong customer service</strong>, including daily interaction with front‑line manufacturing and business users, while clearly communicating system health, risks, and changes.</li></ul><p><br></p>
<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li><strong>3+ years</strong> of experience as a <strong>Systems Administrator or Network Administrator</strong> in a <strong>manufacturing, industrial, or high‑throughput environment</strong>.</li><li>Proven experience managing <strong>servers, endpoints, and production‑critical systems</strong>.</li><li>Strong <strong>customer service mindset</strong>, with experience supporting front‑line business units and manufacturing/production teams.</li><li>Hands‑on experience administering <strong>Windows and Linux environments</strong>, including:</li><li>Server buildouts</li><li>Virtualization</li><li>Imaging</li><li>Endpoint lifecycle management</li><li>Experience supporting at least one major <strong>virtualization or storage platform</strong>, such as <strong>VMware vCenter</strong> (current environment), NetApp, Pure, or VAST.</li><li>Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve <strong>hardware, software, server, and networking issues</strong> in time‑sensitive environments.</li><li>Experience with <strong>asset tracking, configuration management, and maintaining accurate inventories</strong>.</li><li>Strong understanding of <strong>security principles</strong>, including access controls, endpoint hardening, and secure network design.</li><li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong documentation habits.</li><li>Must be <strong>eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret or Top Secret security clearance</strong>.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience supporting <strong>MES, ERP, or factory software platforms</strong>, as well as <strong>OT environments, PLCs, or SCADA systems</strong>.</li><li>Background working in <strong>hybrid IT/OT environments</strong>.</li><li>Experience with virtualization platforms such as <strong>VMware or Hyper‑V</strong>.</li><li>Familiarity with <strong>automation and configuration tools</strong> such as Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, or SCCM.</li><li>Experience working in <strong>air‑gapped environments</strong></li><li><em>(Military or defense backgrounds are a strong plus, even without direct SCADA experience.)</em></li><li>Experience with <strong>CMDBs, asset management systems, or reliability engineering practices</strong> (redundancy, failover).</li><li>Relevant certifications such as <strong>Server+, Azure Administrator, CCNA, or ITIL</strong>.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><strong>Day‑to‑Day Technologies You’ll Support</strong></p><ul><li>Windows and Linux systems</li><li>Factory workstations and endpoints</li><li>Zebra printers and other production peripherals</li><li>MFA tools, YubiKey, authentication and access tooling</li><li>Manufacturing and user‑facing third‑party applications</li></ul>
