This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in accounting systems, audit compliance, and team leadership.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial statements and statistical data to evaluate company performance, profitability, and budget compliance.</li><li>Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.</li><li>Oversee, maintain, and optimize accounting systems according to established policies and procedures.</li><li>Ensure all accounting practices adhere to GAAP standards.</li><li>Manage financial audits, tax preparation, and all external reporting requirements, ensuring deadlines are met.</li><li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial reporting regulations.</li><li>Review and improve business cycle procedures to enhance operational efficiency.</li><li>Oversee cash management functions and manage daily operations of the accounting department.</li><li>Collaborate with the CFO on corporate budgeting and insurance programs.</li><li>Maintain fixed assets and inventory systems.</li><li>Act as liaison with financial institutions and maintain security protocols for accounting staff.</li><li>Oversee preparation of monthly property and corporate financial statements.</li><li>Prepare and maintain monthly operational reports and statistics.</li><li>Monitor effectiveness of internal controls and implement corrective actions as needed.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field required.</li><li>Active CPA, CFA, or CMA preferred.</li><li>Minimum 10 years of progressive experience leading an accounting department, managing teams of 10 or more.</li><li>Direct experience with affordable housing programs, including LIHTC, HUD, Rural Development, and other regulatory requirements is <strong>REQUIRED.</strong></li><li>Advanced knowledge of GAAP, finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles.</li><li>Strong financial analysis skills, with proven ability to prepare financial statements, reports, and forecasts.</li><li>Expertise in short-term and long-term budgeting, financial forecasting, rolling budgets, and profitability analysis at the product-line level.</li><li>Excellent communication and team leadership abilities, with a track record of motivating teams and delivering results under tight deadlines.</li></ul>
