<p>Our client is looking for an experienced Controller to lead the accounting and financial reporting functions across a diverse portfolio of real estate entities and property management operations. This is a hands-on leadership role for an accounting professional who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and can bring structure, accuracy, and visibility to a multi-entity organization. The Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting while partnering closely with ownership and operational leadership on financial reporting, cash management, property performance, and strategic financial initiatives.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Lead accounting and financial reporting for multiple real estate entities and property management operations</li><li>Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including consolidations and intercompany activity</li><li>Prepare and review financial statements, property-level reporting, cash flow analysis, and management reports</li><li>Oversee general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet reconciliations</li><li>Monitor property-level financial performance, operating expenses, and budget-to-actual results</li><li>Oversee cash management and forecasting across multiple entities and bank accounts</li><li>Manage accounting related to acquisitions, dispositions, capital expenditures, and real estate investments</li><li>Maintain accurate ownership, intercompany, and entity-level accounting</li><li>Partner with property management and ownership to improve financial visibility and support business decisions</li><li>Coordinate annual tax preparation and compliance with outside CPA and tax advisors</li><li>Support lender reporting, financing activities, and banking relationships</li><li>Develop and strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, policies, and reporting procedures</li><li>Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve systems, automate processes, and increase efficiency</li></ul><p><br></p>

<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field</li><li>CPA or public accounting background is a plus, but not required</li><li>7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities</li><li>Real estate, property management, commercial real estate, or construction accounting experience required</li><li>Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial statement preparation</li><li>Experience with intercompany transactions, consolidations, cash management, and complex entity structures</li><li>Strong Excel skills and experience working with accounting systems</li><li>Ability to operate effectively in a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment with direct interaction with ownership</li></ul><p>For confidential consideration, apply today or contact Tracy Sperry at Robert Half for more information. </p><p><br></p>
