We are looking for an experienced Data/Information Architect to join a contract opportunity in Itasca, Illinois. In this role, you will shape a modern cloud-based data ecosystem that supports large-scale information management, trusted analytics, and secure access across the organization. This position is ideal for someone who can translate complex data needs into scalable architecture, improve platform performance, and create sustainable frameworks that enable long-term business value. Responsibilities: • Lead the design and delivery of a cloud data architecture using technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure, and Snowflake. • Create scalable data models, storage patterns, and platform structures that support large and complex data volumes across the business. • Develop and refine data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and movement of information to ensure dependable and efficient processing. • Investigate system bottlenecks and resolve performance challenges, including query latency and timeout issues, to strengthen platform stability. • Write, optimize, and tune SQL for high-volume processing and reporting needs. • Prepare reliable, well-structured datasets that support business intelligence solutions in Power BI and Tableau. • Define governance standards, access controls, and security practices that protect sensitive data and support compliance requirements. • Build repeatable processes and automated frameworks that improve scalability, reduce manual effort, and support internal team adoption.

• At least 5 years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a closely related discipline. • Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric and the Azure data ecosystem, including services such as Azure Data Factory and Azure Data Lake. • Demonstrated success designing data solutions for enterprise-scale environments handling millions of records. • Advanced knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and performance optimization in cloud data platforms. • Experience working with Snowflake or a comparable modern data warehouse technology. • Familiarity with reporting and analytics tools such as Power BI and Tableau. • Ability to develop scalable, reusable frameworks that support long-term platform growth rather than one-time solutions. • Background in insurance, financial services, or another highly regulated industry with strict expectations for security, accuracy, and compliance.
