Estimating Manager
<p>Our client is looking for a skilled Estimating &amp; Planning Manager to support operational planning and estimating efforts for a fast-paced production environment in Hillside, Illinois. This position blends team leadership, cost analysis, and workflow coordination to help awarded projects move efficiently from quote through execution. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in manufacturing or print operations, along with the ability to improve processes, strengthen planning accuracy, and support profitable job delivery.</p><p><strong>THIS POSITION IS 100% ON-SITE</strong></p><p><br></p><p>Salary: $80,000-$100,000</p><p>Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, FSA, Life Insurance, STD, LTD, 401K, PTO</p><p><br></p><p><strong><em>Our specialized recruiting professionals apply their expertise and utilize our proprietary AI to find you great job matches faster</em></strong></p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Direct the day-to-day activities of the estimating and planning team, assigning work according to project complexity, deadlines, and staff capability.</p><p>• Evaluate high-value, complex, or strategically important estimates and proposal documents before submission to confirm sound pricing and business alignment.</p><p>• Work closely with production, scheduling, and operations teams to organize awarded work, balancing labor, equipment, and materials for efficient execution.</p><p>• Track jobs against planned timelines and budgets, identify workflow issues early, and revise plans to reduce delays and unnecessary cost.</p><p>• Compare projected job assumptions with actual production outcomes to improve future estimates and strengthen planning decisions.</p><p>• Establish, refine, and enforce department procedures, tools, and standard methods that promote consistency across estimating deliverables.</p><p>• Analyze cost drivers, operational performance, and market conditions to identify opportunities for savings, risk reduction, and stronger profitability.</p><p>• Conduct routine audits of estimating and planning activities, resolve discrepancies, and provide coaching that improves team performance and accuracy.</p>
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in estimating, production planning, operations, or a related manufacturing environment.<br>• Working knowledge of print or manufacturing processes, with the ability to assess production methods and associated costs.<br>• Familiarity with OSHA principles, safety audits, and workplace safety standards applicable to industrial operations.<br>• Strong understanding of scheduling, capacity planning, and resource coordination across labor, equipment, and materials.<br>• Ability to interpret financial data, costing information, and operational performance reports to support sound business decisions.<br>• Experience reviewing proposals, bid packages, RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, or similar customer pricing documentation.<br>• Proficiency in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures and improving department workflows.<br>• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to guide staff, provide feedback, and collaborate across departments.
