Controller
<p>Robert Half is seeking experienced Controller/ Consultant with a strong background in Auto/ Dealership accounting. This leadership role is responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, implementing internal controls, and delivering timely, accurate financial reports that support the organization’s dealership operations and strategic growth. This role will be located onsite in Hemet, CA. </p><p><br></p><p>Key Responsibilities:</p><p>• Manage day-to-day dealership accounting operations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, payroll, banking, and reconciliations.</p><p>• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes and prepare financial statements tailored to dealership business needs.</p><p>• Ensure compliance with automotive industry accounting practices, manufacturer requirements, and regulatory standards.</p><p>• Serve as the primary liaison with auditors, tax advisors, and external partners.</p><p>• Analyze and present key financial metrics, cash flow, and forecasting to senior management.</p><p>• Monitor inventory, floorplan financing, and provide detailed reporting on vehicle sales and service department performance.</p><p>• Institute and maintain robust internal controls to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud.</p><p>• Supervise, train, and develop dealership accounting staff.</p>
<p>• Proven experience in Auto Dealership accounting and financial management.</p><p>• Proficiency in month-end close activities and balance sheet reconciliation.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices.</p><p>• Familiarity with dealership operations, including inventory and floorplan financing.</p><p>• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial metrics and provide strategic recommendations.</p><p>• Effective leadership and team management abilities.</p><p>• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.</p><p>• Ability to work onsite in Hemet, California.</p><p>-Auto/ Dealership industry experience - must have</p>
