Coding Coordinator
<p><strong>Coding Coordinator in Fort Atkinson, WI. For immediate consideration, contact Jon Wright at 608-338-1052.</strong></p><p><br></p><p>We are looking for an experienced Coding Coordinator to lead daily coding operations and support a high-performing healthcare revenue cycle function in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. This role is responsible for guiding coding staff, strengthening documentation accuracy, and promoting compliant coding practices across inpatient, outpatient, and physician services. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, deep medical coding knowledge, and a proactive approach to quality, productivity, and team development.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Direct day-to-day coding activities and coordinate team priorities to maintain timely, accurate record review and code assignment.</p><p>• Supervise coding professionals and clinical documentation staff by offering coaching, performance input, and ongoing operational support.</p><p>• Review coded accounts and documentation quality through routine audits to uphold coding accuracy, reimbursement integrity, and regulatory adherence.</p><p>• Track productivity, workload distribution, and turnaround times, making workflow adjustments to improve departmental efficiency.</p><p>• Deliver education and targeted training on coding standards, documentation expectations, and updates related to ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.</p><p>• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve coding questions, clarify clinical documentation, and address issues that may affect billing outcomes.</p><p>• Establish and reinforce best practices that support compliant coding across hospital, inpatient, outpatient, and physician-based services.</p><p>• Analyze trends in denials, audit findings, and coding errors, then implement corrective actions to improve results and reduce risk.</p>
<p>• At least 3 years of experience in medical coding, including work in hospital-based environments.</p><p>• Demonstrated knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding methodologies.</p><p>• <strong>CPC, COC, or CIC Certification required</strong></p><p>• Certified Clinical Coding Specialist (CCS) preferred</p><p>• Clinical Coding Specialist – Physician (CCS-P) preferred</p><p>• Certified Documentation Expert Outpatient (CDEO) preferred</p><p>• Hands-on experience with inpatient, outpatient, and physician coding processes.</p><p>• Prior experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating coding staff in a healthcare setting.</p><p>• Ability to perform coding audits, interpret findings, and apply corrective guidance effectively.</p><p>• Strong understanding of compliance standards, reimbursement impact, and documentation requirements.</p><p>• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.</p>
