We are looking for a Facilities Manager to oversee maintenance operations for a manufacturing site in California. This contract position with permanent potential calls for a practical leader who can guide daily maintenance activity, strengthen equipment reliability, and support safe, efficient plant performance. The role partners closely with operations and cross-functional teams to reduce downtime, improve asset condition, and keep the facility running smoothly. Responsibilities: • Direct day-to-day maintenance activities across the facility, ensuring equipment and building systems are serviced effectively and on schedule. • Build and manage preventive and corrective maintenance plans to improve uptime and extend the life of production assets. • Lead, coach, and support maintenance staff while providing hands-on guidance during complex repairs and troubleshooting efforts. • Investigate equipment failures, identify root causes, and implement lasting solutions that reduce repeat issues and production interruptions. • Coordinate outside vendors, service providers, and contractors to complete maintenance work safely, on time, and within scope. • Partner with production, quality, purchasing, and plant leadership to align maintenance priorities with operational goals. • Oversee facility inspections and maintenance records within a computerized maintenance management system to track work orders, asset history, and performance. • Manage maintenance-related projects, including equipment upgrades, repairs, and site improvement initiatives that enhance safety and efficiency.

• Experience leading maintenance or facilities operations within a manufacturing, industrial, paper, or packaging environment. • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance practices, equipment troubleshooting, and repair coordination for plant operations. • Demonstrated ability to supervise technicians, set priorities, and drive accountability across a maintenance team. • Hands-on familiarity with facility inspections, commercial or industrial property upkeep, and overall facilities management standards. • Proficiency using a computerized maintenance management system to organize work orders, schedules, and maintenance documentation. • Solid communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and external partners. • Commitment to workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and reliable equipment performance in a production setting.
