<p>Assistant Controller</p><p>We are seeking an experienced <strong>Assistant Controller</strong> to support accounting operations and financial reporting for a growing industrial organization. This position plays a key role in overseeing core accounting functions, cost analysis, compliance, financial planning, and operational reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, manufacturing industry experience, and a continuous improvement mindset.</p><p>Key Responsibilities</p><ul><li>Assist in managing daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and related functions.</li><li>Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.</li><li>Prepare and review financial statements, account reconciliations, and financial analyses.</li><li>Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.</li><li>Oversee cost accounting activities, including inventory valuation, product costing, and variance analysis.</li><li>Partner with operational leaders to analyze labor, materials, and manufacturing performance metrics.</li><li>Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning initiatives.</li><li>Coordinate external audit requests and assist with audit preparation and compliance activities.</li><li>Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.</li><li>Mentor and support accounting staff while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and streamline processes.</li></ul><p><br></p>

<p>• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a closely related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.</p><p>• At least 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including 2 to 3 years within a manufacturing environment.</p><p>• CPA designation is preferred.</p><p>• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.</p><p>• Experience with cost accounting concepts, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting.</p><p>• Proficiency with ERP platforms such as Plex, Oracle, or comparable systems; Plex experience is especially valuable.</p><p>• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving ability.</p><p>• Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to communicate effectively in English.Qualifications</p><ul><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.</li><li>CPA designation preferred.</li><li>Strong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger management, and month-end close processes.</li><li>Experience with cost accounting, inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.</li><li>Proficiency with ERP systems and integrated business software.</li><li>Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.</li><li>Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.</li><li>Authorization to work in the United States.</li></ul><p>Preferred Background</p><ul><li>Manufacturing, distribution, industrial, or product-based industry experience.</li><li>Experience driving process improvements and strengthening internal controls.</li><li>Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, supply chain, and leadership teams to support business objectives.</li></ul><p>If you are interested in this opportunity or other Direct Hire opportunities through Robert Half please call Carolyn Barnett at 513.810.3821 </p>
