Payroll Administrator
<p>We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join an organization in Chesapeake, Virginia on a contract-to-permanent basis. This position focuses on managing wage garnishment activity with precision while supporting payroll operations for a large employee population. The ideal candidate brings hands-on payroll experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.</p><p><br></p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>• Process employee garnishment orders accurately and ensure all deductions are applied in compliance with applicable requirements.</p><p>• Enter, review, and maintain garnishment records for a high-volume workforce while resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.</p><p>• Support full-cycle payroll activities and help ensure employees are paid correctly across each payroll period.</p><p>• Administer payroll transactions for employees working in multiple states, following relevant payroll rules and deduction guidelines.</p><p>• Use ADP Workforce Now to update payroll information, validate entries, and maintain accurate payroll documentation.</p><p>• Research payroll questions related to garnishments, deductions, and employee records, and provide clear follow-up as needed.</p><p>• Coordinate with internal teams and external agencies to confirm withholding details, payment status, and account updates.</p><p>• Assist with payroll-related process updates or system-related changes that affect deduction setup and ongoing administration.</p>
<p>• At least 2 years of payroll experience, including hands-on responsibility for payroll processing tasks.</p><p>• Experience handling full-cycle payroll in a business environment with employee counts ranging from 101 to 500 or more.</p><p>• Working knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and payroll deduction administration.</p><p>• Prior experience processing garnishments with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.</p><p>• Strong data entry, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.</p><p>• Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize tasks, and maintain accuracy in a high-volume setting.</p>
