Purchasing Agent
We are looking for a detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to join our team in Charlotte, North Carolina. In this long-term contract position, you will play a key role in managing procurement activities, sourcing materials, and maintaining supplier relationships to support the company's operations and goals. This opportunity requires strong analytical skills, effective communication, and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and inventory levels to forecast purchasing needs and make informed decisions.<br>• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors to ensure favorable agreements and cost savings.<br>• Research and evaluate products and suppliers to select those that meet quality standards and align with company requirements.<br>• Place and track purchase orders, monitor delivery times, and maintain appropriate stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.<br>• Collaborate with internal teams, such as marketing, finance, and logistics, to align procurement strategies with company objectives.<br>• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers through regular communication and addressing any issues that arise.<br>• Ensure accurate documentation of purchases, contracts, and payments for effective record-keeping.<br>• Solve problems related to delayed shipments, quality concerns, or discrepancies in invoices to ensure smooth operations.
• Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment.<br>• Strong analytical abilities to interpret data and forecast purchasing needs effectively.<br>• Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and prices with suppliers.<br>• Familiarity with purchase order systems and inventory management processes.<br>• Ability to evaluate supplier reliability and product quality.<br>• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across departments.<br>• Highly organized with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.<br>• Problem-solving skills to address procurement-related challenges efficiently.
