Staff Accountant
We are looking for a dedicated Staff Accountant to join our team in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will contribute to the smooth operation of accounting processes, including managing financial records, supporting month-end closings, and assisting with reporting and compliance. This is a long-term contract position offering an excellent opportunity to work collaboratively and enhance your expertise in a shared services environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Prepare accurate journal entries and perform account reconciliations to ensure the integrity of financial data.<br>• Support month-end closing processes across multiple entities, ensuring timely completion of activities.<br>• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, including vendor invoices and customer payments.<br>• Maintain comprehensive documentation to support internal and external audits.<br>• Assist with payroll-related entries, including reimbursements and commission data, while coordinating with HR on employee updates.<br>• Review and process credit card expenses, ensuring compliance with company policies.<br>• Utilize accounting software such as NetSuite or QuickBooks to enter and manage financial data.<br>• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement workflow improvements.<br>• Prepare routine financial reports and schedules, supporting multi-entity consolidation tasks.<br>• Monitor outstanding receivables and assist with accounts receivable reconciliations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.<br>• Minimum of two years of accounting experience, ideally in a multi-entity or shared services environment.<br>• Proficiency in accounting software, with preference for experience in NetSuite or QuickBooks.<br>• Strong knowledge of corporate tax, sales tax, and general ledger functions.<br>• Advanced Excel skills, including proficiency with formulas and pivot tables.<br>• Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage tasks effectively.<br>• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.<br>• Familiarity with commission functions and related financial processes.
