Controller
We are looking for a Controller to lead financial oversight and document management operations for our printing and publishing team in Charleston, South Carolina. This position combines core accounting leadership with hands-on coordination of document control and scanning activities to support accurate reporting and organized records. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in general ledger management, financial statement preparation, and monthly close processes while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and compliance.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Oversee the general ledger and maintain accurate financial records to support day-to-day accounting operations.<br>• Prepare monthly financial statements and deliver timely reporting that supports business decision-making.<br>• Lead the month-end close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and review of supporting documentation.<br>• Manage document control activities by organizing, tracking, and maintaining financial and operational records.<br>• Coordinate document scanning workflows to ensure files are digitized accurately and stored in an accessible manner.<br>• Compile and review records for completeness, consistency, and compliance with internal standards.<br>• Monitor accounting processes and recommend improvements that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and record retention practices.<br>• Partner with internal teams to ensure financial documentation is properly maintained and available for reporting or audit needs.
<p>• Experience managing general ledger activities in a controller or senior accounting capacity.</p><p>• Strong background in preparing financial statements and monthly financial reporting packages.</p><p>• Demonstrated ability to oversee month-end close and maintain accurate supporting documentation.</p><p>• Familiarity with document control practices, records organization, and scanning workflows.</p><p>• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial data and compiled documents.</p><p>• Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.</p><p>• Knowledge of accounting principles, internal controls, and reporting best practices.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>For additional info please email directly: Bryan.Thierfelder@roberthalf com</p>
