We are looking for an experienced Senior Controller to support a growing engineering organization in Centennial, Colorado. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who can oversee core accounting activities, strengthen reporting accuracy, and provide clear financial insight to executive stakeholders. The role requires a strong background in controllership, payroll oversight, and project-based accounting within a complex operational environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Lead day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring smooth execution of general ledger activities, payroll administration, and period-end close cycles.<br>• Produce complete and timely financial statements and verify that results are aligned with accounting standards and internal reporting expectations.<br>• Develop executive-level financial reports, dashboards, and analysis that support strategic planning and operational decision-making.<br>• Maintain consistency and reliability of financial information by reviewing data quality and resolving discrepancies across departments.<br>• Supervise accounting and payroll staff, providing direction, accountability, and support for high-quality team performance.<br>• Strengthen internal controls and refine accounting processes to improve efficiency, compliance, and overall financial governance.<br>• Oversee job cost tracking and work-in-progress reporting to ensure accurate visibility into project financial performance.<br>• Support payroll operations involving in-house, certified, and union payroll requirements while ensuring proper compliance and documentation.

• 10+ years of progressive accounting or controllership experience, including leadership responsibility within complex finance functions.<br>• Demonstrated expertise in managing full-cycle accounting operations, including month-end and year-end close activities.<br>• Strong knowledge of financial statement preparation, internal controls, and regulatory or policy compliance.<br>• Experience with project-based accounting, including job cost analysis and work-in-progress reporting.<br>• Background supporting payroll functions, with familiarity in certified payroll, union payroll, and in-house payroll processes.<br>• Proficiency with Viewpoint Vista and the ability to work effectively within systems used in engineering or construction-related environments.<br>• Prior experience in the engineering, civil engineering, or similar project-driven industry is highly desirable.
