<p><strong> Embedded Linux-Senior Software Engineer</strong></p><p><strong>Location: </strong>ONSITE Cedar Rapids, IA</p><p><strong>Employment Type: </strong>Long Term<strong> </strong>Contract</p><p><strong>Work Authorization: Due to federal contract requirements, candidates must be U.S. Citizens.</strong></p><p><strong>Candidates must be eligible to obtain security clearance </strong></p><p><strong>Overview</strong></p><p>We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer with expertise in Embedded Linux development to support advanced research and product development initiatives focused on next-generation embedded systems. This role will contribute to the design, development, testing, and support of software that powers complex hardware platforms in a collaborative Agile environment.</p><p>The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Embedded Linux, device driver development, board support packages (BSPs), hardware integration, and low-level debugging.</p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p><ul><li>Design, develop, test, and maintain Embedded Linux software solutions.</li><li>Develop and support Board Support Packages (BSPs), device drivers, bootloaders, kernels, and root file systems.</li><li>Perform board bring-up activities and integrate software with target hardware platforms.</li><li>Investigate and resolve complex hardware and software issues through root cause analysis.</li><li>Utilize debugging tools, hardware schematics, and diagnostic techniques to troubleshoot system behavior.</li><li>Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and collaborative development activities.</li><li>Manage work items, defects, and change requests using Jira.</li><li>Follow established engineering, quality, and development processes.</li></ul>
<p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or a related STEM field with 5+ years of relevant experience; OR</li><li>Master's degree in a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR</li><li>9+ years of relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree.</li><li>Minimum 3 years of experience developing Embedded Linux device drivers.</li><li>Strong programming experience with Embedded C and C++.</li><li>Experience with Bash and Python scripting.</li><li>Experience with board bring-up and hardware integration.</li><li>Experience troubleshooting hardware/software issues and performing root cause analysis.</li><li>Experience using debugging tools and interpreting hardware schematics.</li></ul><p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with Git and SVN version control systems.</li><li>Experience building and packaging custom Linux distributions using Buildroot.</li><li>Familiarity with Agile software development practices.</li><li>Experience working within DevSecOps environments.</li><li>Strong communication and collaboration skills.</li></ul><p><br></p>
