Payroll Administrator
We are looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to support payroll and related employee data activities for a Contract position based in Missouri. This role is responsible for delivering accurate payroll processing, maintaining employee records, and helping ensure compliance with applicable tax and employment requirements. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll systems knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive information with discretion while meeting recurring deadlines.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage end-to-end biweekly payroll processing, verifying earnings, deductions, and payment accuracy for employees.<br>• Maintain and update payroll records, including tax withholding details, direct deposit instructions, benefit changes, retirement contributions, paid leave entries, compensation updates, and employment status changes.<br>• Review payroll transactions to identify discrepancies, research issues, and implement timely corrections when needed.<br>• Handle special payroll runs such as adjustments, corrections, and final checks in accordance with company policy and legal guidelines.<br>• Administer payroll-related deductions and withholdings, including garnishments and other nonstandard payment items, while keeping accurate audit records.<br>• Support employee lifecycle administration by entering new employee and termination information and assisting with personnel file upkeep.<br>• Coordinate employment-related documentation activities, including onboarding paperwork, background screening steps, employment verification, and E-Verify processing.<br>• Prepare year-end payroll documents and assist with tax reporting obligations, including W-2 distribution and compliance-related filings.<br>• Provide support during benefits enrollment periods and contribute to other payroll or HR administrative tasks as assigned.
• At least 2 years of payroll experience, with a strong preference for 3 or more years in a hands-on processing role.<br>• Practical experience managing full-cycle payroll, including multi-state payroll for a workforce environment of approximately 101 to 500 employees.<br>• Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now Payroll Systems is required.<br>• High school diploma or equivalent is required.<br>• Strong attention to detail, effective time management, and the ability to organize work independently to meet deadlines.<br>• Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the professionalism to handle confidential employee information.<br>• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and comfort working with minimal supervision.<br>• Ability to meet employment screening requirements as a condition of employment.
