Network Development Specialist
Position Summary We are seeking a motivated and relationship-focused Network Development Specialist to support the continued growth and maintenance of our PPO network. This role is responsible for identifying and recruiting providers, negotiating rates, supporting provider orientation and training, and serving as a key liaison between providers, clients, and internal teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills, along with experience in provider relations and managed care environments. Key Responsibilities Develop, expand, and maintain the PPO network through provider identification, outreach, solicitation, and rate negotiation. Adhere to established provider fee schedules and coordinate rate negotiations with leadership. Assist with provider orientations, including individual and regional training sessions. Serve as a liaison between treatment providers, clients, patients, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues in a timely manner. Support the Clinical Division with provider connections and case-specific problem-solving. Assist Clinical, Accounting, and Marketing teams with support services tied to current or prospective client contracts. Contribute to the preparation of proposals and other contract-related materials as needed. Maintain departmental, corporate, and quality assurance policies and procedures, and recommend updates where appropriate. Recommend revisions to PPO contract forms and provider rates as needed. Participate in ongoing marketing, provider relations, research, and public relations initiatives. Monitor market conditions, including competitor activity, provider rates by region, national trends, and relevant industry changes. Prepare reports and make recommendations for product line enhancements. Attend meetings and complete other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field required. Minimum of 3 years of provider relations experience required, preferably within a PPO, HMO, or similar managed care environment. Experience with managed care and PPO networks required. Background or exposure to the mental health field preferred. Familiarity with case management and utilization review functions preferred. Experience with fiscal matters, rate negotiations, and contract terms required. Proficiency with computer applications, including PCs, Word, Access, and internet-based tools. Experience supporting business and industry services preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Experience with presentations or group speaking preferred. Comfortable with extensive phone-based outreach and communication. detail oriented presence with a cooperative, assertive, and goal-oriented work style. Valid Alabama driver’s license, dependable transportation, and ability to travel required.
