Assistant Controller
The Assistant Controller will perform a variety of accounting functions supporting the Controller, Sr. VP of Finance, and the Accounting Department as a whole. These duties require a considerable level of professional judgment and analytical ability.<br><br>Essential Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:<br><br>Assist in producing accurate and timely financial statements in a multi-company environment.<br>Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including maintaining the monthly closing calendar, account analysis and reconciliation.<br>Monitor balance sheet review, account reconciliations and variances between current year and prior year results.<br>Provide recommendations for proper accounting methods, policies and principles in accordance with GAAP.<br>Supervise members of the accounting team.<br>Provide guidance and leadership to the accounting team to promote career development.<br>Review, approve and post journal entries.<br>Participate in the new ERP implementation.<br>Assist in year-end closing and interaction with outside auditors & tax preparers.<br>Assist in preparation of annual budgets for corporate items with the Financial Planning & Analysis team.<br>Work with shared service partner on issues related to financial statements and other requests.<br><br>Job Requirements<br><br>Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. <br>A minimum of seven to 10 years of accounting experience.<br>Industry experience is a plus but not required.<br>Significant experience with GAAP.<br>Working knowledge of Great Plains (preferred).<br>Microsoft Excel and Word.<br>Strong organizational and time management skills.
