Human Resources (HR) Manager
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources team member to support workforce coordination and daily HR operations in a public sector setting in Baltimore, Maryland. This Long-term Contract position will oversee employee administration, hiring support, onboarding activities, and personnel record management while partnering with staff and department leadership. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational judgment, discretion with sensitive information, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment.<br><br>Responsibilities:<br>• Manage day-to-day HR coordination activities, including workforce assignments, staffing support, and employee service requests.<br>• Facilitate recruitment logistics by arranging interviews, communicating with applicants, and preparing hiring documentation for review and processing.<br>• Administer personnel transactions such as new hires, internal moves, status updates, and separations with accuracy and timeliness.<br>• Maintain HR records, employee files, and system data to ensure documentation remains complete, current, and confidential.<br>• Support onboarding and orientation efforts to help new employees transition smoothly into their roles.<br>• Monitor adherence to applicable employment policies, regulatory requirements, and public sector procedures across HR activities.<br>• Compile reports on staffing activity, personnel trends, and operational metrics to support leadership decision-making.<br>• Provide administrative assistance for employee relations, benefits-related coordination, and other HR projects as assigned.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in human resources administration, staffing coordination, or a related operational support role.<br>• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field is preferred.<br>• Background working in government, public sector, healthcare, education, or unionized environments is preferred.<br>• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive employee information with professionalism, discretion, and accuracy.<br>• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and leadership levels.<br>• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and HRIS or workforce management systems.<br>• Experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, and personnel documentation.
