<p><strong>Robert Half</strong> is actively partnering with an Austin-based client to identify a Network Engineer<strong> (contract).</strong> In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing critical network infrastructure while ensuring high availability, performance, and security. <strong>This role is onsite in Austin, Tx.</strong></p><p><br></p><p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Design, implement, troubleshoot, and support enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless networks.</li><li>Monitor and optimize network performance, reliability, and availability across complex multi-site environments.</li><li>Perform network upgrades, configuration changes, and maintenance activities following established change management processes.</li><li>Maintain network architecture diagrams, configuration standards, operational procedures, and technical documentation.</li><li>Proactively identify and resolve network issues while implementing measures to prevent future disruptions.</li><li>Support network security initiatives and infrastructure modernization projects.</li><li>Participate in on-call support rotations and respond to critical network incidents as needed.</li><li>Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to team members.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement infrastructure enhancements and support business growth.</li></ul>

<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>9+ years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network environments.</li><li>Bachelor&#39;s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li>Strong expertise with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including VLANs, spanning tree, routing protocols, and network segmentation.</li><li>Experience supporting multi-vendor enterprise networking environments.</li><li>Hands-on experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.</li><li>Knowledge of wireless networking, firewalls, load balancing technologies, and network security best practices.</li><li>Experience with network automation and scripting tools such as Python, Ansible, or similar technologies.</li><li>Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.</li><li>Professional networking certifications such as CCNP or equivalent are highly preferred.</li><li>Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.</li></ul><p><strong>Contract Benefit Offerings:</strong></p><ul><li>Healthcare (medical, dental, and vision plans)</li><li>401(k) and retirement plans</li><li>Commuter benefits</li><li>Employee and vendor discounts</li><li>Employee Assistance Program (EAP)</li><li>And many more!</li></ul><p><br></p>
