Worried About Retention

• 47% are very concerned about their company’s ability to retain valued staff.
• 41% are somewhat concerned.
• 39% of managers who have concerns attribute them to salary reductions and planned salary freezes.

Cities with the highest percentage of managers who are concerned salaries will impact retention:

• Minneapolis: 52%
• Tampa 50%
• Portland 49%

Ready — and Willing — to Offer More Pay

• 28% have increased starting salaries for new hires since the pandemic began.
• 44% have made no change to starting salaries.
• 36% are more likely to negotiate salary with new hires than a year ago.
• 50% are equally likely to negotiate salary.

Cities with highest percentage of managers who are more likely to negotiate:

• Austin 51%
• Raleigh 48%
• Charlotte 45%
